Loving Our Western Suburbs

The western suburbs really do have it all, and now is a wonderful time to make the move.

The western suburbs is home to some of the fastest selling areas in Western Australia, and it’s not hard to see why. These highly coveted suburbs are luxury lifestyle havens, the faces of Perth’s heritage, and most are in prime locations between the city and the ocean, and the river. These are the suburbs where the Abode team focus our services, and there are lots of reasons we love our location. Let’s take a look at a few.

The Location

Living in the western suburbs means you’re living between the city and Fremantle, from North to South, and from East to West, you’re between the river and the ocean. So, not only are there beaches, waterways and views everywhere, getting around is a breeze. Forget about peak-hour traffic on the freeway, you’re close enough to everything you need, and the views of the beach, river and city can be hard to resist.

The Beach

Speaking of beaches, the western suburbs are just a hop, skip and jump from some of Perth’s best. Enjoy the long stretches of white sand and perfect spots for relaxing at Leighton Beach, the bars, dining and tanning at Cottesloe, or the family-friendly Floreat Beach.

The Shopping

If it’s high-end boutiques and stores you’re after, there’s plenty of them in the middle of it all at Claremont Quarter. Shop to your heart’s content for all the most current fashions, jewellery, homewares and gifts. If it’s a marketplace you’re looking for there’s no better place than the wonderful Boatshed Market, where you’ll find gourmet foods, fresh bread, amazing produce, fine wine, and friendly faces.

The Restaurants

Delicious breakfasts, beachside lunches, swanky dinners and whatever else your taste buds are begging for, it’s on offer in the western suburbs. Some of our favourite places include Il Lido, it serves superb modern Italian overlooking Cottesloe Beach. The OBH is an old favourite for casual sunsets. The new-ish Coast at Port Beach is also great for sunsets, with a more sophisticated vibe. And then the new developments at City Beach give even more ocean-side eating options.

The Schools

If you have a young family, where better to live than in the catchment area of some of Perth’s best schools. Whether it’s public or private, many of Perth’s greatest secondary school academic achievements are made here in the western suburbs at schools including Hale, Methodist Ladies’ College, Perth Modern, and Shenton College to name a few.

It’s not hard to see why we love our western suburbs, because location, shopping, dining, ocean and the river all live here.

If you’re looking to move into the area, now is a great time to start planning the move, and we’re always happy to help you out in person with more local knowledge.
