HOW TO MAKE CHRISTMAS SNOWFLAKE DECORATIONS- PERFECT FOR THE KIDS!

00

A white Christmas is a source of endless fascination, so why not make it a white Christmas in your household this holiday season by crafting your very own snowflake Christmas decorations?

Cover a window with different sized flakes, or stick them to a large mirror for a floating effect. If you want to contrast the white, you can cut snowflakes from pale-coloured paper – perhaps a silver-grey or pearlescent paper to add a snowy gleam. Glow-in-the-dark paper also works a treat, especially if Santa’s little helpers decide to wake up and sneak a peak at the tree for any prezzies.

We recommend starting with larger sheets of paper to create big flakes, and then moving on to smaller sheets once you become more confident. (Trust me, some of us tried it and its not as easy as it looks).

Step-by-step Christmas Snowflakes:

Step 1: Start with a square piece of paper. Fold the paper in half diagonally to make a triangle.

Step 2: Now, fold the triangle in half so the pointy corners meet

Step 3: Fold your triangle into thirds.

Step 4: Fold into the shape as shown. You may need to adjust these folds a little to get the sides
to match up, so don’t crease the paper until the folds are just right.

Step 5: Cut across the bottom of your paper so it is straight.

Step 6: Cut the folded paper with variations of straight and curvy lines. Get creative with your
snowflake designs by experimenting with different sizes and shapes of cutouts.

Step 7: Gently unfold the paper to see your unique snowflake.

Use poster putty to attach to windowpanes, or make a wreath of snowflakes by sticking them one at a time to a wall with poster putty.

Good luck!
