Cottesloe has to be one of our all-time favourite suburbs in Perth – and yes, we might be a little biased, as it happens to be home to our two offices!
Hugely popular with families, this suburb is ideal if you’re a fan of a laid-back coastal lifestyle, gourmet dining spots, funky cafe’s, leisure and upmarket shopping.
We’d like to share some of our top spots in the gorgeous seaside suburb affectionately nicknamed “Cott”.
Let’s explore some of the things that Cottesloe has to offer.
Food and Drinks
There are no shortage of premium dining spots in the suburb of Cottesloe. Whether you’re after a fine-dining experience, or some top-notch fish and chips by the water, there is a plethora of options awaiting.
If you’re in the mood for a beachside aperol spritz, head to Il Lido Italian Canteen. Housed in a former 1930s cabaret hall, you can enjoy hearty italian food amidst gorgeous raw timber and long communal tables.
If you’re after a quick nibble to satisfy your sweet tooth, head to Baker St (confusingly, on Napoleon Street) to enjoy danish delights, mocha croissants, or pretzels with your locally roasted coffee.
If you’d prefer a home-cooked meal, you cannot go past the divine Boatshed Markets. This place is a foodies dream, with not a bruised apple in sight! A one-stop-shop for premium food from around the world, the Boatshed Market includes a grocery store, fish market, butchery, delicatessen and florist. Go for the samples alone.
If it’s more of a bar scene you’re after, try the Cottesloe Beach Hotel. With expansive ocean views, a relaxed atmosphere and a busy vibe, “The Cott” is the perfect location for a catch-up with friends whilst working your way through a long wine list.
Health and Fitness
How do Cottesloe mums stay so svelte you may ask? Well, it’s not hard when you have so many fitness and wellness centres around!
Why not try a reformer pilates or ballet barre class at Pure Moves while the kids play in the creche? If you’d prefer to make the most of the Cottesloe sea breeze, head to outdoor gym area on Marine Parade!
Of you’re serious about improving your fitness levels, check out Anarchy Training Centre, with high-energy group boxing classes and PT sessions on offer.
Beach
There’s a reason why Cottesloe Beach is one of Perth’s most photographed beaches!
With more than a 1km of spotless white sand, this is a popular spot for swimming, snorkelling and surfing. Depending on the weather and time of day, you can expect prime surf conditions or calm, glassy water, perfect for a relaxing dip.
A Cottesloe Beach sunset must be on your bucket list – pick up some fish and chips from the local, and prepare to be awestruck!
If sand is not your thing, there is no shortage of additional scenic locations in Cottesloe! Why not pack a picnic and enjoy some time at the stunning Cottesloe Civic Centre? This pristine, sheltered park is shaded by luscious trees and looks magical in the afternoon light.
Shopping
One thing you’re sure to notice about Cottesloe residents – they know how to dress! It’s no wonder with so many charming boutiques on offer.
With a stunning display of luxury brands, Boheme Luxe stock beautiful bohemian clothes and homewares. If ultra-cool streetwear is more your style, don’t miss The Black Wall.
